Almost Crawling

Adam is so close to crawling. As of today he's figured out how to move his arms while in the crawling position, but not the legs. It's so much fun to watch him try to figure it out. I was hoping tonight would be the night he would crawl, but I guess it's okay if tomorrow he crawls to me when I go to pick him up from school!

And a family shot from our 90 minute walk yesterday.

Weekend with Mommy

Dad was out of town this weekend, so Adam and I were home alone. We went to Great Grandpa's 85th birthday party on Saturday, and while we were in the cities we bought Adam's big boy car seat. It's getting so hard to lug him around in his baby car seat. Sunday was beautiful day so we took Brockway for a walk and then we went for our first run with the BOB stroller. I was dreading going to the grocery store with Adam, but he did so well. He loved walking around the store looking at everything. I think he was really happy to see dad was home when he woke up this morning.

Adam has a third tooth starting to poke through. He was in a great mood today and then when I put him down for bed a little monster came out. I think the pain from his tooth got to him. One dose of ibuprofen, baby oral jel and some teething tablets later his crying turned to whimpering and we had a sleeper. (I just hope it's not the ear infection coming back- he finished the third round of antibiotics on Sunday night).

Cabin Fever

We had cabin fever from being cooped up in our house all winter, so to cure it we went to my aunt's cabin outside of Ashland Wisconsin with both grandmas and grandpas. Both Dave and I had Kaizens last week, so we had both worked extremely long hours and were so ready to get out of town.

On Saturday morning Adam decided to try out a new skill. Pulling himself up to standing/kneeling using the coffee table. The coffee table at the cabin was really low and he could grab it and pull himself up from sitting. He loves standing now, except he falls down a lot. It's time to lower the matres in the crib.

He also thoroughly enjoyed going for walks in a baby backpack carrier. I borrowed one from my friend Denise just to make sure Adam liked it and now we need one!My parents, Dave and I got in one last ski of the season while Adam took a two hour nap! We had a great time up at the cabin- thanks aunt Robyn and uncle Charlie for letting us stay at your place!

The weekends seem to go faster and faster lately. Friday night we hung out with Andy and Brooke watching the Olympics (I think I watched more of the Olympics this year than ever before- Thank you Mr. DVR). Then Saturday we woke up early, and not because of Adam. Brockway was getting into the garbage at 6:30 AM. Darn dog, I was supposed to sleep in, but I was up for the day. Thanks to Brockway I actually motivated and made it to the gym before noon. On my way home from the gym Dave and I decided to go skiing with my parents. So we met them at Carver Park Reserve and I skied with Adam on my back. He feel asleep in the carrier and it felt like I was carrying a 20 lb sack of potatoes on my back. Needless to say I was worn out and am extremely sore today. Today was church, then watching hockey and playing with my son.

I think this baby is going to be crawling soon:

8 Months Old

He's eight months old now! This last month was a busy one for Adam. He has first and second teeth poking out! He claps all the time, which mommy thinks is the cutest thing ever. He had his first ear infection and we're still not sure if it's gone. And he's sleeping through the night consistently (wohoo!). He's at such a fun age right now. I love playing with him and just sitting back and watching him play. We really seem to have a family routine down, but Adam is flexible and his world doesn't come crashing down if we change it up.
