Pack N Play (18w5d)

We made our first baby purchase this week. We were shopping at Shopko (a Target like store for those from the Twin Cities) for a baby gift for a friend when Dave spotted a great deal. A Graco Pack N Play crib/bassinet on clearance for $27. I told Dave no initially, but after doing some Internet shopping/searching I realized that you couldn't even get a used Pack N Play for under $30. So Dave ran back to the store, and our baby has a bed. We'll still get a crib, but I figure the baby will be sleeping in the bassinet in our room when he/she comes home.

Baby's Heart Beat (17w2d)

We had our second doctors appointment today. Yes, our second appointment was at 17 weeks, between the Holidays and my doctor having surgery on her arm we went 7 weeks without seeing her. But it was worth the wait, because we got to hear our baby's heart beat for the first time. It was 147-150 bpm. She held the wand on my tummy and we could hear the heart beat get closer and then further away. Obviously the baby is doing some moving in there. Unfortunately I haven't felt the baby move yet. There's been a couple of times where I've thought maybe, but nothing for sure yet.

I also decided to announce my pregnancy on facebook today! Dave teased me and said that makes it official, we're having a baby!

Belly Stain (17w0d)

I used to scrapbook with three women. Two were from work and one is a coworkers wife. We met the first Monday of every month at the Hutchinson Scrapbooking store. At one meeting (about two years ago) I was talking with my two co-workers about having kids and realized that we we're probably planning to start trying around the same time. I came home and told Dave that I really thought Denise, Molly and I could all be pregnant together. Well first Denise announced she was pregnant in July, then Molly in September and finally I found out Jen (my coworker Brian's wife) was pregnant in October. I think I found out Jen was pregnant about a week after I took the pregnancy test for our little peanut. So crazy! Unfortunately we all kind of gave up scrapbooking together last spring, we were just too busy. But it is nice to have some friends to share pregnancy things with. One thing Molly kept telling me is when my belly gets a little bigger I'll start noticing that I spill on it. So yesterday I was just about to sit down after taking a drink and I noticed a little spot on my shirt. Ahhh my first belly stain. I giggled, told Dave and then took a picture to remember it by.

Denise is no longer my pregnant friend though. She had her baby, on her due date of January 10th! Little Nathaniel David. Both Molly and Jen know that they are each having another boy (Jen has three boys and Molly has one), so I'm pretty convinced we'll have a girl. We'll have to wait until June 22nd to find out...

Christmas & Maternity Clothes (16w1d)

Well I bought my first pair of maternity jeans on Christmas Eve and then my second the day after Christmas and that's all I've been wearing since. Thank goodness for our front loading-high efficiency washer! We spent Christmas with my family here in Minnesota and New Years weekend we traveled to Wisconsin to visit Dave's family. Dave's family bought me tons of maternity clothes (a highly needed third pair of maternity pants). We also got baby's first outfits from Aunt Ann :
And Uncle Titus. So Cute!
We got a video recorder from Dave's parents. Dave and I will have to discuss how much of the birth I will really allow him to video!

Here are several belly pics the first ones from 14w2d and the second is from 16w1d and the third is Dave's belly (he's weighed the same since I met him seven years ago and now he's trying to gain a little weight so my pregnant weight won't be higher than his).
