Avenger Birthday

When I realized my due date for Isaac was in June I knew a birthday party for Adam close to his birthday was probably out of the question. It just takes too long to heal from a c-section. So I held off planning the party until I was actually feeling good, which meant Adam's party was a little over a month late. Better late than never right?

So I asked Adam what he wanted for a birthday theme and he said Avengers and I thought that sounds awesome and immediately started a pintrest board. Everyone got an Avengers Mask made from felt- should have made all Iron Man masks because that was the favorite.

Each boy got to decorate their own Thor hammer with stickers.

Thor ready to save or smash the city?

I painted a bunch of boxes grey with paint I mixed from leftovers to look like a city skyline. I had meant to put windows on them, but it didn't happen and the boys didn't care. They kept knocking over and smashing the city and I would put it back together for them to smash again.
And of course every ones favorite- the pinata. I wanted to make one with Adam, but I plead an exhausted newborn mamma who had already completed probably one to many pintrest projects so Walmart purchased spidey pinata it was.

Avenger themed snacks before the delivery pizza showed up (which was worth every penny). I made a Captain America fruit tray, Thor Hammer cheese sticks and a veggie tray that makes the Hulk turn green.

One of my favorite pictures- Adam had just opened his good friend Austin's present and Austin said, " Adam, Adam turn the toy and look at your mommy, she's going to take our picture" And then they smiled.

Successful 5th Avenger birthday party- check! We love you Adam!

Isaac Henry 2 Month Stats

I went back to work this week but that couldn't keep me from attending Isaac's two month check up- no way! According to our pediatrician he's doing great- tracking the dog or brothers around the house, smiling and cooing and getting closer to sleeping through the night (I've been afraid to mention the amazing sleep I've been getting lately 10 pm to anywhere from 3:30 to 5:00 am).

So to the stats- height 22 inches (8th percentile), weight 11 pounds 8.8 ounces (27th percentile) and head circumference 15.75" (73rd percentile). His weight to length percentile is 84% so there's that, but he's so cute when he smiles and coos at me!

Isaac is Two Months

This post is a little bitter sweet and a day late. Yesterday was two months since Isaac's birth and tomorrow I go back to work for a few weeks. Daddy is going to take paternity leave and mommy is going to give work a try and then I will take my 12 weeks of bonding time. Isaac will be in great hands and I'm sure work will be just fine.
Smiles for daddy
Isaac started smiling this last month. He's pretty stingy with the smiles though. I was teasing Dave while changing Isaac and he smiled in response to my smiles so I thought maybe I could get him to smile for the two month photo, but no such luck. And looking back at Adam and Eli's two month pictures I was able to get them to smile. Isaac is my serious boy with the chubbiest checks. And the grunting noises he makes crack me up. He's also starting to coo more and more. You get horrible crying and tears when Isaac has a dirty diaper but when you change it he will give you smiles and coos. He's starting to enjoy playing with his gym and reaching for toys. Traveling with Isaac is getting easier- he's a go baby just like his brothers.
